Saksham, the GFATM Round 7, HIV/AIDS counselling programme in India is being implemented by Tata Institute of Social Sciences, as the Principal Recipient (PR) and 38 other institutions of higher learning as Sub-Recipients (SRs) and Sub-Sub-Recipients (SSRs). Each of these institutions has a dedicated programme team, with specified roles and responsibilities. Saksham Programme Administration
The National Programme Director is responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance to the entire Saksham programme.
Principal Recipient (PR)
At the PR level, there are five units: Capacity Building, Research & Documentation, Monitoring and Evaluation, Communication & Publications and Finance & Administration and each is headed by a Team Manager.(Read more on Profiles & Teams tab)
Sub-Recipients (SRs)
The six SRs have a Faculty in Charge each, who is responsible for implementation of the programme at SR and SSR level. The Faculty in Charge works in close coordination with the Zonal Programme Manager, who ensures collection, verification and timely submission all the data and reports of the SR and SSRs under it.(Read more on Profiles & Teams tab)

Mentoring and Monitoring Visits Saksham's core mandate is building human capacities of the counselling personnel in HIV/AIDS. In order to maintain the quality of the training of counsellors, vis-a-vis pedagogy, content, presentation, session sequencing and data management, a system of mentoring and monitoring visits (M&M) has been instituted.The Mentoring and Monitoring visits are conducted by either PR or SR team members.
