Saksham's primary goal is to enhance the institutional capacities of 38 counsellor training institutes spread across India to undertake capacity building and counselling supervision for counsellors working under the National AIDS Control Programme.

For maintaining the quality of training and mentoring in the field of HIV/AIDS counselling, there is a need for refresher trainings for trainers and mentors that will enhance knowledge and skills, as well as further sharpen their perspective on sensitive issues related to HIV/AIDS.

In order to further upgrade their capacities and to encourage self-learning among them, Saksham has developed E-learning courses.

The E-learning courses are designed to help the persons undertaking them to check their knowledge and perspective through knowledge-check questions, quizzes, case studies and self-reflection questions. The modules are designed for self- assessment and improvement.

Gender & Sexuality E-learning Course

The first E-learning course that we have uploaded is on 'Gender and Sexuality'. This has been developed by Talking About Reproductive and Sexual Health Issues (TARSHI), Delhi. This NGO works towards expanding sexual and reproductive choices in people's lives in an effort to enable them to enjoy lives of dignity, freedom from fear, infection and reproductive and sexual health problems.

The Gender & Sexuality online course, although designed primarily for Saksham's Master Trainers, can be useful for busy professionals in the field of HIV/AIDS throughout India. Consisting of six modules, and each module with five individual lessons, the course includes interesting and participatory exercises, best practices, case studies, and audio-visuals.
